Candice is from Vidalia, Georgia. She received her undergrad degree in General Studies with concentrations in Business, Education, and Psychology from Valdosta State University. When she was in college, the Lord gave her a strong conviction to be a lifelong learner (to know Christ) and laborer (and make Him know). Since graduating in 2005, the Lord has given her many opportunity to live out this conviction through being developed and serving in full-time ministry for two years at Valdosta State University campus and then two years in urban ministry in Memphis, Tennessee. During her time in Memphis, the Lord continued to give her a heart for campus ministry and to see laborers leave the campus to impact places all around the world, even places like Memphis! Serving with EDGE Corps has allowed her to continue to know Christ and make Him known. In her free time you can find Candice reading, writing in her journal, hanging out with close friends, listening to music, traveling, and surfing the Internet.

Lauren is from Merritt Island, Florida. She attended Florida State University and received a degree in Apparel Design and Technology with a minor in Business. EDGE Corps was a dream job for Lauren after hearing about it her freshman year. The idea of meeting with students one-on-one, leading Bible studies and planning events for students to experience fellowship was exciting and appealing. After years of praying and asking for God’s direction she felt God’s leading in the direction of proclaiming Christ on the college campus. “Because you are precious in my eyes, and honored, and I love you, I give men in return for you, peoples in exchange for your life (Isaiah 43:4).” This verse is one that God used to affirm her desire for joining EDGE. In her free time she enjoys reading, sewing, and spending a day at the beach.

Victoria is from Fort Myers, Florida. She received a degree in Secondary Math Education from the University of South Florida. Victoria believes there is a small window of opportunity after you graduate from college while you are still in the same relative phase of life and able to connect with students. She enjoyed teaching middle school students, but more than that she enjoyed building relationships with college women and helping them grow in their love for God and His word, as well as for people. She decided she would take a break from teaching to take a step of faith in coming on staff with The Navigators to personally invest in women. Now not only does she get to teach, which she loves, but she gets to teach what’s most valuable–God’s word. In her free time Victoria enjoys reading, writing, spending time in coffee shops, photography, hiking, dancing, making crafts, watching movies, traveling, learning, and art.

Kyle Hettema is from Boulder, Colorado and attended Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado. He earned a degree in Zoology and loves learning about animals and passing on what he has learned, especially to children. After college, Kyle worked as a zookeeper for two and a half years and has spent time volunteering with a Navigator ministry in Boulder along with serving in his house church community. In Luke 4, Jesus says he has come to heal the broken hearted and to set the captives free, and Kyle has seen Jesus do just that in his life with depression. Now he wants to introduce students to Jesus and help them start a transforming relationship with Him in their lives away from captivity and towards freedom. Kyle enjoys movies and music, throwing a frisbee with a friend, and being outside on his bike or on a slack line.

College students are seeking love, truth, and significance in places that won’t satisfy. Hope desires for others to know that life, hope, and freedom are found in a relationship with Jesus. She recalls her collegiate years being the most influential in her relationship with God, and she desires to “proclaim the excellencies of Christ who has called us out of darkness and into His marvelous light” (1 Peter 2:9). Hope enjoys running, a good cup of coffee, reading, laughing, watching a movie, and spending time with her family and friends.
